Editorial team and how we research

Updated October 29, 2026

Every guide on Only for the Wealthy is written and maintained by the House of Biz & Company Editorial Team. House of Biz & Company is the Chicago company that publishes this site. This page explains who stands behind the guides, where our facts come from, how we keep them current, and how to tell us when we’ve got something wrong.

Who we are

We’re a small publishing team, not a dealer, broker, insurer, law firm or appraiser. We don’t sell, broker, consign or authenticate cars, watches, jewelry, aircraft or yachts, and nobody pays us to review or recommend a product. Our job is to read the primary sources a careful buyer would read (statutes, regulations, agency guidance and the brands’ own published terms) and turn them into plain-English checklists.

We don’t present our team as lawyers, tax advisers, gemologists or watchmakers. When a decision needs one of those professionals, the guide says so.

Sourcing policy

  • Primary sources first. Every key factual claim links to the source behind it: a government agency, a regulator, a statute or regulation, a court or official record, or a company’s own published terms. Numbered citations in the text match the numbered source list at the end of each guide.
  • We read what we cite. Sources are opened and read when a guide is written or updated. If we can’t reach or confirm a source, we leave the claim out.
  • Company claims are labeled. When we describe a brand’s warranty, an insurer’s coverage or a retailer’s program, we attribute it (“Rolex says…”) and point you to the actual terms, which are what count.
  • No invented numbers. We don’t publish prices, returns or statistics we can’t verify. Worked examples are labeled as hypothetical arithmetic.
  • No fake reviews or testing claims. We don’t claim to have tested products we haven’t tested, and we don’t publish testimonials.

How guides are produced

We use software tools, including AI tools, to help gather sources and draft text. Tools don’t decide what we publish: every factual statement is checked against the cited source before a guide goes live, and pages are checked for broken links, accessibility and mobile display.

Update policy

  • Each guide shows the date it was last updated at the top of the page.
  • We revisit guides when the underlying rule, program or deadline changes, and when readers send corrections.
  • When a rule has a start date (for example, a new tax-refund procedure), the guide says which date applies.

Corrections

If you spot an error, an outdated rule or a broken source link, email [email protected] with the page address and, if possible, the source that shows the correct information. We review every correction request, fix confirmed errors promptly, and update the date on the page.

Independence and money

The site is free to read. We disclose every way we earn money on our affiliate disclosure page: a small number of marked affiliate links, and our own $19 Before You Pay guide sold by our sister brand FedProbeNow. Commissions never decide what a guide says, and safety and verification advice comes first.

What our guides are not

Our guides are general information, not legal, tax, insurance, financial or investment advice, and they aren’t a substitute for an inspection, an appraisal or a professional who knows your situation.
